Position root ball in a wide shallow hole almost as deep and 2x as wide as rootball. Leave the top of rootball between a few inches above ground to ground level and not deeper.

Add root stimulant around rootball. Finish planting with soil mix. Water well. Add 2” -3” of mulch to top of root ball.

Cut twine around the trunk and top of rootball, remove nails: fold back burlap to sides of rootball. DO NOT remove wire cage.

Mix peat moss, composted manure, and topsoil. Backfill ½ way up the rootball.

Water them right! There is no magic number to how much or how often to water. Try to keep the top 2” – 3” of soil moist (not muddy). A slow trickle hose for deep watering is best. Water several times a week during summer and once a week in spring and fall.

Don’t forget to feed your plants!
Evergreens like acid: use holly-tone, holly care or Mir-acid.
Non-evergreens use plant –tone, osmocote, or miracle gro
